Not all agencies work to the same high standards.

As the association for the recruitment and staffing industry in the UK, the REC rigorously check each of its members to ensure that they comply with the REC Code of Good Practice, operate ethically, professionally and to the highest standards.

Dealing with you and your company

  • On initial contact with you, members will provide clear and accurate information about the services they may provide
  • REC members will endeavour to take up references on temporary workers before providing them on assignment clients. If for exceptional reasons referees have not been contacted, you will be informed.
  • REC members will inform you when they have not carried out a face-to-face interview prior to you interviewing the client
  • Members will accurately and comprehensively document all stages of the recruitment process, including the results of interviews, tests and references
  • REC members must obtain your express agreement before a vacancy is displayed on any website
Standards
  • REC members will ensure that their staff are well aware of all relevant legislation and are trained to carry out their duties effectively and to a high standard
  • Complaints raised with the REC against members by clients will be dealt with under the REC complaints and disciplinary procedures
  • REC members will deal with all clients fairly, openly, honestly and courteously at all times
